Verify Loan Apps in Nigeria (Before You Install)
Let’s be blunt: some loan apps are fine, some are predators, and some are straight-up scammers. Don’t wait until they start calling your contacts.
2‑minute safety check
- Permissions: if the app asks for Contacts/SMS/Call logs, think twice.
- Pricing: can you see interest + fees clearly before accepting?
- Company identity: real support email/phone + address (not vibes).
- Repayment: is there a clear repayment schedule and penalty policy?
FCCPC status (official)
FCCPC publishes registration/status information for digital money lenders. Start with the official status page below, then match the app name/company carefully (scammers copy names).
If a loan app is harassing you
- Take screenshots: messages, call logs, app permissions, repayment attempts.
- Write a timeline: when you borrowed, how much, what they demanded, what you paid.
- Do not panic-pay. First, document everything.
Next: we’ll add a ready-to-send FCCPC complaint template.
